Here at Living By The Word Church we believe that God has given this house a "vision"; we believe that every individual that comes through the doors of LWCM was sent by God with a purpose. Every person in the body has a unique and special role, (I Corinthians 12:12) "For as the body is one, and has many members, and all of the members of that one body being many are one body so also is Christ." We are also the avenue by which his Spirit can draw others toward himself, this is the main purpose of Living By The Word Church. As well as the reason why we exist so that "upon this rock (revelation) he will build his church and the gates of Hades shall not prevail." (Matthew 16:18) It is upon this revelation purpose and vision that God will build this Church to become a beacon in the community and city.

Pastor Raymond Ames was born and raised on the South side of Chicago, IL. At the tender age of 18 he relocated to Denver, CO. He started his Christian journey at age 19 in a small church in the inner-city called Faith Temple Church. As a committed member of the church, Pastor Ames learned some ministry fundamentals which led him to accept his call to do ministry and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Being committed to the call, he was licensed as a minister of the gospel on April 26, 1992. He was led by the Lord to attend Beulah Heights Bible College in August 1996. There, began his ministry training and biblical studies in the word. In 2001, Pastor Ames continued serving faithfully in various areas of ministry: Youth Department, New Members Orientation, Christian Education, Outreach Ministry, Deacons Ministry, Bookstore Ministry, Audio Ministry, Singles Ministry Director, DFM Bible College Professor. Pastor Ames was licensed a second time during this period, and joined the prayer partner team at Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) in Decatur, Georgia.

Pastor Ames has dedicated his life to being a servant of God and Gods's people. In May 2008, he was ordained by several clergy leaders who represented various churches around the metro Atlanta area. He continued his diligent work of the Lord regardless of the various ministry challenges he had throughout the years. In 2011, Pastor Raymond Ames was led again in faith to launch a new church in McDonough, GA called Living By the Word Church International Ministries along with 7 members. Now years later, LWCM continues to grow and shares the love of God with others.
